POST PRODUCTION: An Intro to Editing for Filmmakers

Sunday, May 15, 2011
1:00 - 5:00 pm

Post Production Workshop - $59.00  $49.00  thru 5/13/2011!

Are you a beginning director, or seeking to become a better one?  Join us for an informative introduction to the basics of Film Editing - specially designed for beginning and established Directors and Producers.  Learn the basics of film and video editing, what to expect in post production, and how to prepare for the editing process.

Most editing classes involve multiple sessions and a hands-on aspect geared toward aspiring editors.  Much of what takes place there won't particularly apply to directors and producers.  But if you don't want to have to edit your film yourself, then this is the workshop to help you learn how to maximize your editor.  You'll learn:

  • How to avoid some of the key mistakes directors make when filming;
  • An overview of equipment, techniques, terms and software;
  • Samples of effective editing in features, documentaries and shorts;
  • When to involve and how to work with your editor; and
  • An editor's perspective on how to extract the heart of your story.

Handouts are included.   Certificate of completion awarded to all attendees.  Seating is limited; pre-registration is recommended.  Register before Friday May 6 or email gabpc@gabpc.com to reserve your spot.  For more information or to register by phone, call 770-819-9635.
